Awarded the City of Armadale Community Citizen of the Year for 2022.

Robert Turner was instrumental in the Kelmscott Bulldogs Football Club establishing the first integrated sporting team in the South-East Corridor in April 2021.

The football team provides opportunity for people living with difficulties or a disability to participate in AFL games. Robert extended the program to facilitate nonplaying participation, developing many inclusive roles within the club.

To develop the team Robert engaged with the City of Armadale and the local NDIS service providers..

In keeping with his 2021 inclusion commitment, Robert also founded and manages Kelmscott’s first women’s team as well as continuing to manage and grow the clubs two senior men’s teams.

Robert has dedicated much of his time, personal investment and resources in the establishment and development of the teams. He has also taken on the roles of director for football, marketing, sponsorship, merchandising and is the Covid management officer for the Club.

He has acquired significant sponsorship and grants funding to provide equipment and services for the players. Never too busy to help, Robert travels to Fremantle to pick up a transport van to drive players to the games at his own cost.
